Alright everyone, we got a title for the game and the short story that goes behind it. It follows several movie ideas that you might have seen, all good ones to model a story after.
Short story timeline:

2050: AI (Artificial Intelligence) is realized.
2090: Meteor the size of half our own moon is heading toward Earth.
2095: Moon base construction is started.
2097: Moon base construction is completed.
2098: Military and scientists are relocated to the Moon Colony.
2099: Steps are taken to ensure the survival of our species. People are moved to the moon to wait out the impact.
2100: Meteor hits the earth and is watched by all from the new colony on the moon.
2010: Hand to Hand combat sports are all that remain for entertainment. Wrestling wins out as the sport of choice. Over several decades it becomes a religion thus making a persons status in society solely based on his/her skill as a wrestler.

New Beginning.
3010: Colony departs the moon as supplies run out and head back to earth
3011: First colony on the new earth "Shale Marsh" is established. It is discovered that the earth has almost fully recovered, but all that was known is lost.
3011: Scientists discover that the magnetic core of the earth has been changed and now it is impossible for anyone that has returned to earth to leave.
3012: All the rest of the people from the moon are relocated to earth not knowing that they cannot leave now.
3015: After several years 4 main colonies on New Earth have risen and started to thrive.
3016: The robot race thought to have been extinguished in the meteor hit is discovered to be alive and thriving on the outskirts of the new island colonies.
3017: War breaks out among the humans and the robots.
3018: Peace is reached through a truce.
3050: Scientists discover that it is possible to repair the earth but it will require breaking the truce that has lasted for more than 3 decades.
3051: A class of warriors is trained to go and retrieve items necessary to repair the earth.
3052: This new warrior class is now trained and charged with searching out and finding all items that will allow the scientists to repair the Shattered Earth.
